Thread adapters are used when a smaller thread is needed in an existing tapped hole, for example when fitting eye bolts to DIN 580 or lifting brackets.
The head design allows installation with an open-ended spanner or with a pin.
The mounting face must be flat and at right angles to the tapped hole.
Once screwed in, the collar of the screw must sit firmly against the face.
